Clinical study of using Yangxueqingnao granule to improve cognitive function of convalescent patients with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage after operation

Abstract:

Objective

To evaluate the clinical therapeutic efficacy of using Yangxueqingnao granule to improve cognitive function of convalescent patients with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage after operation.

Methods

Sixty patients in the medical center of dujiangyan city from October 2009 to February 2011 were divided randomly into two groups. The treat group underwent yangxueqingnao granule and the control group received conventional therapy. The pre-therapy and post-therapy patients’status were assessed by mini mental state examination(MMSE) and Barhtel index(BI).

Results

The scores of MMSE and BI increase significantly in treating group after treatment, compared with those before t reatment (P<0.05). No complications were observed.

Conclusion

Yangxueqingnao granule is a kind of safe and effective Chinese patent medicine, it can treat nervous dysfunction induced by hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage after operation, it can accelerate functional rehabilitation and improve the quality of life of patients. So it can be used extensively in clinic.
