Abstract:

Chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) is one of the most common diseases in neurosurgery, mainly in the elderly. At present, the pathogenesis of CSDH has changed from the previous theory of exudation to the formation of the vascular envelope neovascularization and inflammation response. Treatments for CSDH are divided into surgery, including conical drainage, trepanation and drainage, craniotomy resection, neuroendoscopic surgery and medicine treatment. In recent years, diagnosis and prevention of postoperative recurrence of CSDH has been constantly updated, and the medicine treatment plan has also been constantly improved due to the change of the understanding of pathogenesis. This article reviews the progress of research of CSDH.

Key words: Chronic subdural hemorrhage, Diagnosis, pathogenesis, Treatment progress
