The safety nursing of transfusion treatment to coma patients in neurosurgery department

Objective

To explore the nursing measures in venous transfusion safety for coma patients in department of neurosurgery.

Methods

Five hundred coma patients were retrospectively analyzed who got transfusion therapy in the department of neurosurgery, the second hospital affiliated to nantong university, from Jan. 2013 to Dec. 2014. Details of nursing measures such as strict check system is especially suitable for neurosurgery patients with coma, summarizes from the infusion preparation, selection of blood vessels, the infusion speed adjustment and infusion of observation.

Results

Major complaint and nursing defects does not appear in the process of infusion, and patient satisfaction reached 96.8%.

Conclusion

Nursing measures were corresponding adopt according to the characteristics of coma patients and main risk problems of intravenous infusion, so as to eliminate potential safety hazard, to achieve safety in the process of coma patients transfusion.
