Abstract:

Deep brain stimulation has been widely used in the treatment of a variety of functional neurological diseases.Among them, the high-frequency deep brain stimulation of subthalamic nuclei, which can significantly improve tremor, bradykinesia, and rigidity in patients with Parkinson's disease, has become the preferred method of surgical treatment for Parkinson's disease.Although the treatment is effective, but its mechanisms have not been fully elucidated. In this review,we summarized the mechanisms of action of the high-frequency deep brain stimulation of subthalamic nuclei.
