Management of water-electrolyte balance after craniopharyngioma surgery

Abstract:

Craniopharyngioma is one of the most common tumors in the sellar region. The pituitary and hypothalamus are easy to be damaged during craniopharyngioma surgery. Water electrolyte disturbance is a common complication after surgery, and it is also one of the key factors affecting the prognosis of the patients. The understanding and accurate treatment of the occurrence and development of water electrolyte disbalance after craniopharyngioma surgery is of great significance for improving the curative effect. This article reviews the research progress in the pathogenesis and treatment of disturbance of water electrolyte disbalance after craniopharyngioma surgery.
