Abstract:

Objective

To analysis the expression of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) in mouse cerbellum.

Methods

Fronze sections gained from the 6 months old TLR4 knockout (TLR4-/-) mice and wildtype littermates (TLR4+/+). Co-stained TLR4 with cerebellar special cells markers by immunofluorescence technology in frozen sections and revealed TLR4 localization by laser confocal scanning.

Results

TLR4 is highly expressed in Purkinje cell but not in Bergamnn glia or cerbellar granule cells. In addition, there were few microglia expressing TLR4 in cerebellum.

Conclusion

TLR4 is highly expressed in cerebellar Purkinje cell and it is beneficial for revealed its function in cerebellum by analyzing the role of TLR4 on Purkinje cell function.

Key words: Toll-like receptor 4, Cerebellum, Purkinje cell, Microglia, Bergmann glia, Granule cell
