Clinical analysis of 56 cases of cranioplasty with frozen autogenous skull

Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the feasibility and superiority of sterilization, drilling and replantation of the autogenous skull removed from the freezer during the craniotomy.

Methods

Fifty-six cases after decompressive craniectomy skull flap aseptic preservation in ordinary freezer, admitted to our hospital from May 2006 to November 2010, two stage repair surgery will be removed after the autologous skull natural rewarming immersed into the liquid iodophor disinfection for 2 h, 2 h after soaked with hydrogen peroxide, and then rinsed repeatedly with normal saline, and the diameter of 3 mm Common Department of Orthopedics gram according to the 1/mm2 drill needle distance will be disinfected after skull drilling after replantation in patients with skull lock fixed on the normal skull. Clinical effect was observed. The patients were followed up by regular brain CT scan.

Results

Ordinary refrigerator cryopreservation for 56 patients with bone flap, clinical observation 3 months after cranioplasty, found bone flap can complete anatomical reduction, good healing and bone window surrounding bony appearance, no rejection and other complications and no adverse reaction.

Conclusion

Sterilization after autogenous skull cryopreservation is an economical, simple and effective method. It is an ideal method to popularize the skull, and it is an ideal material for cranioplasty.
