Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the effect of intravascular cooling therapy on mean level, cerebral oxygen metabolism and intracranial pressure (ICP) in patients with severe traumatic brain injury.

Methods

From April 2015 to April 2017, 100 patients with severe traumatic brain injury were enrolled in the Intensive Care Unit of Zhengzhou Central Hospital Affiliated to Zhengzhou University. According to the random data table method, the patients were divided into control group and observation group. The control group was given routine standardized treatment, the observation group given intravascular cooling treatment. The changes of consciousness, ICP and cerebral oxygen metabolism were observed before and after 3 d of treatment.

Results

The level of consciousness, ICP and cerebral oxygen metabolism were significantly higher in the two groups than in the same group (P<0.05), and the level of the observation group (P<0.05).

Conclusion

Intravascular cooling therapy can significantly improve the consciousness level of patients with severe traumatic brain injury, improve the level of cerebral oxygen metabolism, and reduce the ICP, which is of great significance clinical practice value.

Key words: Severe traumatic brain injury, Intravascular cooling, Curative effect
