Abstract:

Objective

To evaluate the application value of 3D printed silicone vascular model and auxiliary training system in the training process of neurosurgery skills.

Methods

The DSA data was collected from those patients who were diagnosed with intracranial aneurysms and treated in neurosurgery. The high-elasticity transparent silicone was used as the molding material and the 3D printing process was used to print the intracranial aneurysm model. Six experts evaluated the model’s applicability, practicability, and simulative feature.

Results

Experts gave a good evaluation of 3D printing silicone vascular model, with a comprehensive score of (4.61±0.49), which was above 4 in terms of applicability, practicability or authenticity.

Conclusion

3D printing silicone vascular model has been recognized by experts in terms of applicability, practicability and authenticity, and is expected to become an important part in the process of neural intervention training in the future.

Key words: 3D printing, Silicone cerebrovascular model, Neurosurgical intervention education, Intracranial aneurysm, Medical simulation
