Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the clinical characteristics, treatment and effect of spontaneous intraspinal hemorrhage.

Methods

The clinical data of 24 cases of intraspinal hemorrhage admitted to Neurosurgery Department of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital from December 2012 to September 2020 were retrospectively analyzed, including 10 cases of epidural hemorrhage, 7 cases of subdural hemorrhage and 7 cases of intramedullary hemorrhage. Eighteen cases were treated surgically, 5 cases were treated conservatively and 1 case refused operation.

Results

Ten cases of patients with epidural hemorrhage were treated by surgery, of which 7 cases had different degrees of recovery of neurological function; 7 cases of patients with subdural hemorrhage, 4 cases of patients with conservative treatment of neurological function were improved, 3 cases of patients with surgical treatment only 1 case improved. Among the 7 cases with intramedullary hemorrhage, 4 cases had improved neurological function in 5 cases who received surgical treatment, and 1 case had improved neurological function in 2 cases who received conservative treatment.

Conclusion

For acute epidural hemorrhage or intramedullary hemorrhage, early surgery can improve the prognosis of patients, and for mild symptoms of subdural hematoma, conservative treatment can also get good results, individualized treatment should be carried out according to different conditions.
