The progress of consciousness-promoted treatment on persistent vegetative state patients by deep brain stimulation

Abstract:

Deep brain stimulation(DBS)for wake promoting therapy has aroused the attention of scholars in recent years, becoming a new hotspot in the research field of nerve function regulation and the treatment of craniocerebral trauma. However, as a noninvasive treatment method, DBS only can applied to the patients with relatively stable conditions with the full clinical prognosis research result, reasonable treatment plans and reliable support of basic theory. This paper has reviewed the research prognosis in the recent years on historical research,discussion on the regulation and control of wake promoting frequency, the neural biochemical theory of central thalamic DBS wake promoting stimulation,etc.
